After landing at Cox’s Bazar Airport, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman drove a car to the site of a canal excavation programme.

He had Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed seated beside him in the front passenger seat.

The premier’s spouse Dr Zubaida Rahman and Salahuddin Ahmed’s wife Hasina Ahmed were also in the car.

Afterward, Tarique Rahman again drove the car himself from there to the Dulahazara Safari Park.

Along the entire route, thousands of local residents as well as party leaders and activists warmly welcomed the prime minister by scattering flowers, waving their hands and chanting slogans in his honor.

Earlier, the prime minister arrived in the tourist town of Cox’s Bazar on daylong visit.
