DRU celebrates 27th founding anniversary Thursday
Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) is celebrating its 27th founding anniversary on Thursday.
Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU), the largest professional body of working reporters based in Dhaka, is celebrating its 27th founding anniversary on Thursday (May 26) in a festive environment.
To mark the day, the DRU have chalked out various programmes including hoisting national flag as well as organization’s own flag atop on DRU premises at 10:00 am, inaugurating programmes through releasing balloons and pigeons at 10:10 am, conducting colourful rally at 11.00 am, cutting cake and exchanging greetings at 12:00 pm and giving reception to DRU member freedom fighters at 2:30 pm.
Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud will be present as the chief guest at the function. DRU President Nazrul Islam Mithu and General Secretary Nurul Islam Hasib and other leaders are present to celebrate the day.
The DRU was established on May 26 in 1995 in order to establishing the rights of the reporters, working in various media of the capital, Dhaka and also to promote professional progress with dignity.
