BCCCI seeks Chinese investment in textile industries
Bangladesh-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) President Md Khorshed Alam today urged Chinese investors to invest in the country's textile sector, particularly in sick and non-operational industries, through joint ventures.
“Revitalising dormant facilities would yield more effective commercial outcomes than establishing entirely new industries,” he said while meeting with leaders of the Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh (CEAB) at the CEAB’s city office.
He further assured that BCCCI is ready to provide necessary support services, including assistance in expediting SB clearance procedures within the legal framework for CEAB members.
CEAB President Han Kun highlighted several priority areas for enhanced cooperation, including infrastructural development, Government-to-Government (G2G) projects, power generation and renewable energy initiatives, and expansion of trade in construction materials, said the release.
He reaffirmed CEAB's commitment to strengthening bilateral economic relations and expressed confidence that coordinated and collaborative efforts between BCCCI and CEAB would be more effective in identifying challenges, proposing policy-level recommendations, and resolving outstanding issues.
Among others, Senior Vice President of BCCCI AZM Azizur Rahman, President of the CEAB Textile and Garments Branch Mike Ge, Marketing Director of CEAB's Bangladesh Branch Tao Tao, Vice President of CEAB Ma Rui and Secretary of CEAB Zhou Meimei spoke at the meeting, reports BSS.
