A trade delegation from Bangladesh will visit Benelux – Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg – in December 2022 to attract more foreign direct investments (FDIs) to the country.

The delegation will also try to promote Bangladeshi products and services to Benelux.

The trade mission can also serve as a good opportunity for European businessmen to invest in promising sectors of Bangladesh – agriculture and agro-food processing, blue economy and water resources, information and communication technology, light engineering, textile, apparel and medical machinery equipment, leather and leather goods.

Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen Minister and Prime Minister's Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman will lead the delegation in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.

Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DBCCI) board Thursday met with Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Lokman Hossain Miah to discuss the "Bangladesh Trade and Investment Mission to the Benelux 2022."

At the meeting in Dhaka, Md Anwar Shawkat Afser, president of DBCCI, highlighted the upcoming event, to be organised by BIDA and DBCCI, to develop bilateral trade and cultural relationships.

Lokman assured him of all support for the delegation and appreciated the DBCCI board of directors for their initiative to attract FDI from Benelux and Europe, reports UNB.
