Jeddah, 20-11-2025 - The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has commended the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) for adopting a comprehensive suite of resolutions that underscore the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people. The OIC articulated that this extensive international consensus highlights the critical significance of the Palestinian cause while vehemently rejecting the policies associated with Israeli colonial occupation, which encompass annexation, settlement expansion, forced displacement, ethnic cleansing, and various other violations of international law committed by Israel.
Furthermore, the OIC underscored the essential nature of the overwhelming endorsement of the resolution to renew the mandate of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). This reaffirmation addresses the Palestinian refugee situation and their unequivocal rights to return and receive compensation. The OIC reiterated the imperative to maintain UNRWA’s mandate and to furnish it with comprehensive support, financial, political, and legal, as a manifestation of the international community's commitment to upholding the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Additionally, the Organization renewed its appeal to the global community to persist in promoting and endorsing draft resolutions that affirm and safeguard the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. This includes advocating for their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state within the borders delineated prior to June 4, 1967, with East Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital, in alignment with pertinent United Nations resolutions. – OIC News
