Modi Announces Fast-Track Courts for Exam Paper Leaks

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that the central government will establish fast-track courts to ensure swift and strict punishment for those involved in examination paper leaks, amid growing protests demanding reforms to the country's education system.

In a post on X on Thursday, Modi said, "Nothing is more important than the welfare and future of our youth."

He said the relevant authorities and officials had been instructed to take all necessary steps to implement the decision without delay.

"This is part of our continued efforts to protect the interests of students. Anyone attempting to destroy the future of the nation's youth will not be spared," Modi added.

The announcement comes as protests led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) continue in New Delhi, with demonstrators demanding the resignation of the education minister and sweeping reforms to the education system.

Although the main protest site at Jantar Mantar remained largely peaceful, clashes broke out near the Parliament complex between protesters and security personnel. Authorities temporarily suspended internet services in the area to help contain the situation.

According to reports, the confrontation began after security forces fired tear gas to disperse protesters on Parliament Street. Some demonstrators later responded by throwing bricks and stones at police, while others reportedly chased several officers during the unrest.
