India will resume visa services for Bangladeshi nationals, including medical and business categories, from next week, according to Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir.
Speaking at the Secretariat on Monday after a meeting, Kabir said the decision has been agreed by New Delhi, marking what he described as a positive step in bilateral relations.
He said improved engagement could help further strengthen ties between the two neighbours. “If there is a good mindset, relations between the two countries can move forward significantly in a positive direction,” he added.
Kabir noted that discussions also covered a range of outstanding bilateral issues, with both sides showing willingness to address mutual concerns constructively.
He further said Bangladesh expressed appreciation to India for supplying diesel through cross-border pipeline arrangements.
Earlier, Foreign Affairs Adviser Khalilur Rahman and Humayun Kabir visited New Delhi on a three-day trip, where they held talks with India’s External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on a wide range of bilateral issues.
