Internet thieves are mugging money from people deceptive way by using an address of Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus in which he is shown as urging people to invest Taka 30,500 Taka and earn Taka three thousand a week, a victims to GreenWatch Dhaka on Monday.
Osman, the victim (not his real name) as he browsed down the post a link came pressing which he found the rackets gave him a detailed form asking for his name, address, telephone number, email address and NID number.
As he finished filling in the form a temephone call came from a UK based number +447387220450 the man identifying himself as Wali and offered his assistance to open an account. First he made sure the mayment was made and said the account was opened only thing left was to put a new password and log in. As passwords were not working he himself gave one password to work with and change later.
As this password also repeatedly did not work the caller said he would ask an expert to call him and solve the problem. The said expert did never call back. As the caller also did neither receive a call nor respond to an SMS the victim became sure he was cheated. The website shown was www.mirrox.com
The BTRC must look into the matter before thousands of people fall into the trap and lose money. The post in question has been running for months, the victim said
