Shahidul Alam flies to Turkey from Israel captivity.

Dhaka, Oct 10 - A flight took off from Israel on Friday afternoon with renowned Bangladeshi photographer and human rights activist Shahidul Alam among the passengers, according to Turkish sources.

The flight – TK 6921 – is expected to land in Istanbul around 2:30 p.m. local time.

Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his cooperation in securing the release of Shahidul Alam and his repatriation from Israel, said the Chief Adviser’s deputy press secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder.

Shahidul Alam’s release from Israel comes two days after he and scores of others were detained by Israeli naval forces that intercepted a group of vessels that attempted to break Israel’s siege on Gaza. - UNB
