Dhaka, Sept 13 - Two students injured in the Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara have been released from hospital after weeks of treatment.

Hafsa Khan, 11, a fourth grader, and Md Rayan, 14, an eighth grader, were discharged from the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS) on Saturday afternoon, said Dr Shawon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon at the institute.

“Both Hafsa and Rayan sustained 22 percent flame burns in the crash. They have now recovered enough to return home. Currently, 11 patients remain admitted. So far, 25 have been discharged in stable condition, while 20 others have died,” Dr Shawon said.

The July 21 accident occurred when a Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet went down on the permanent campus of Milestone School and College at Diabari in Uttara.

The crash left many students, teachers and staff dead or injured, with dozens suffering severe burns. - UNB
