Dhaka, Oct 6 – The 6th death anniversary of BUET student Abrar Fahad, who paid the ultimate price for speaking firmly and truthfully in the nation's interest against fascists, will be observed on Tuesday (Oct. 7) across all district units of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), including Dhaka.

On the occasion, the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, in collaboration with Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, will organize a discussion program titled 'Abrar Fahad: A New Symbol of Bangladesh’s Sovereignty and Our Culture'.

A documentary on Abrar titled 'You Failed to Kill Abrar Fahad', highlighting his courage and struggle, will also be screened simultaneously at all district Shilpakala Academies.

The program in Dhaka will begin at 7 pm at the Nandan Mancha of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

Abrar Fahad’s father, Md Barkat Ullah, will attend the event in Dhaka and deliver a speech in memory of his late son.

The program in Dhaka will be presided over by BSA Director General Sheikh Rezauddin Ahmed (poet Rezauddin Stalin). Welcome remarks will be delivered by Deepak Kumar Goswami, Director of the Drama and Film Department of the Academy.

The event is open to all and aims to honor the life and legacy of Shaheed Abrar Fahad through discussions and the nationwide documentary screening. - UNB
