Bangladesh finishes SAFF Fustal campaign with defeat

Bangladesh men's team finished the SAFF Futsal Championship campaign with conceding a 4-1 defeat to Nepal held at the Nonthaburi Stadium in Thailand today.


In the day’s match, Lakpa Tamang put Nepal ahead in the 14th minute while Saroj Tamang doubled the lead for Nepal scoring the second goal in the 29th minute.

Rahbar Wahed Khan reduced the margin for Bangladesh in the 34th minute while Sanje Syangtan scored the third goal for Nepal in the 35th minute.

Bikrant Narsingh sealed the victory scoring the fourth goal for Nepal in the 37th minute.   

With this defeat, Bangladesh remained with their previous collection of seven points from six matches while Nepal improved their position with eight points playing the four matches.   

Maldives dominate the table with 12 points playing four matches.    

Earlier, Bangladesh team played to a fighting 4-4 goals draw with India in their tournament opening match, suffered 6-1 goal defeat to Maldives in their second match.

Bangladesh however fought back with a 4-1 victory over Nepal in their third match and inflicted a massive 5-1 defeat on Sri Lanka and again suffered a 5-1 goal defeat to Pakistan.

Nepal earlier beat Sri Lanka 2-1, played out to a 3-3 draw with India, 4-4 with Pakistan and lost 2-1 to Maldives.

The table toppers at the end of all seven rounds of matches will be crowned the first-ever SAFF Men's Futsal champions, reports BSS.
