Legendary footballer Cafu to visit Dhaka next month

DHAKA, Nov 7, 2025 (BSS) - World Cup-winning legendary Brazilian footballer Cafu will visit Dhaka for two days in December.

He is expected to join as the special guest in the price distribution ceremony of much-awaited international football festival "Latin Bangla Super Cup 2025" to be held at the National Stadium in the capital from December 5 to 11.

Three teams from Argentina, Brazil and Bangladesh will participate in this tournament.

Cafu represented Brazil in four FIFA World Cups between 1994 and 2006, and is the only player in history to have appeared in three World Cup finals, both overall and consecutive, winning the 1994 and 2002 editions of the tournament.

In this regards, the organizer AF Boxing Promotions disclosed the detailed information at a press conference held at Hotel InterContinental in the capital today. 


AF Boxing Promotions International managing director Md Asaduzzaman presided over the press conference.

Bangladesh Football Federation technical committee chairman Kamrul Hasan Hilton, AF Boxing Promotion International promoter Mehedi Hasan Badhon, Atiqul Islam Shakil, Head of Media and Communications, AF Boxing Promotion International and former DIG of Police and Security and Protocol Advisor Abul Kalam Azad were present at the press conference.

The organizers said that the biggest attraction of the tournament will be Brazilian legendary and World Cup-winning captain Cafu, who will be present as a special guest in the tournament, will inspire young players.

In addition, the Argentina team will be accompanied by a former star footballer, who will participate in the tournament as the team's ambassador.

According to the organizers, the main goal of this event is "Where the Magic Happens" to celebrate the football tradition of Latin America and the football craze of Bangladesh together.

Bangladesh will be represented by a high performance team, which is made up of the country's best young players. On the other hand, Brazil and Argentina will be represented by their club-level teams.

There will be various international-standard events throughout the tournament, including fan zones, live music performances and merchandise corners.BSS
