Dhaka, 16 May-Nigerian striker Mfon Udoh scored a brace as ten men Brothers Union Club moved to the fourth position in the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League football when they came from behind and beat Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club by 4–1 goals held at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur Friday.
In the day’s match, Nigerian forward Mfon Udoh scored a brace while Uzbek forward Akobir Turaev netted one goal for Brothers after trailing the first half by 1-0 goal. Forward Ben Ibrahim Ouattara scored a lone goal for Fakirerpool.
Fakirerpool went ahead early when Ben Ibrahim scored the first goal in the 15th minute. Akobir Turaev restored the parity for Brothers Union converting a spot kick in the 29th minute of the match.
Udoh gave Brothers a deserving lead scoring the second goal in the 37th minute and after the resumption he further widened the margin scoring his second and third goal for Brothers Union in the 65th minute.
Midfielder Kaushik Barua sealed the victory scoring the fourth goal for Brothers in the 77th minute of the match.
The day’s win saw, the all orange outfit Brothers Union secure 23 points from 15 matches while Fakirerpool, standing in eighth position in the league table, remained at their previous collection of 16 points playing the same number of matches.
Akobir Turaev of Brothers Union was shown direct red card by the referee for his unsporting behavior in the match.
Meanwhile, Abahani Limited Dhaka will play against Fortis Football Club at Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla while Dhaka Wanderers Club meet old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur Saturday.
