Mymensingh emerge venue champions

Dhaka, 22 Apr-Mymensingh U-14 women’s football team emerged as venue champions of the JFA U-14 Women’s Youth Development Program 2024, a talent hunt for women footballers, beating Jamalpur U-14 women’s football team in tie breaker in the final held at Bir Muktijoddha Advocate Abdul Hakim Stadium in Jamalpur on Monday.

AFC council member, Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) executive member and committee for women’s football chairperson Mahfuza Akter Kiron, BFF member Nurul Islam (Nuru), committee for women’s football members Nasrin Akter Baby and Ayesha Jaman Khuki, Jamalpur Municipality Mayor and Jamapur District Football Association (DSA) president Mohammad Chanowar Hossain Chanu, Jamalpur DSA vice president Mohammad Sorowar Hossain Shanto, among others, were present in the prize distribution ceremony.

Eight teams -- six venue champions of the preliminary round and two best runners-up team -- will play the final round in Rajshahi later stage.

This year, a total of 36 teams, split in six zones, -- Madaripur, Rajshahi, Dinajpur, Feni, Jashore and Jamalpur are taking part in the preliminary round of the tournament at the six zonal venues.
