Cape Verde refused to give up on their fairytale run at a first ever World Cup as they took Lionel Messi's Argentina to extra-time after their last 32 tie ended 1-1.

A moment of magic from Messi opened the scoring for the defending champions with his 20th World Cup goal on 29 minutes.

But the overwhelmingly Argentine crowd in Miami was stunned on the hour mark when Deroy Duarte fired in an equaliser for the Blue Sharks to take the game to an extra 30 minutes, reports BSS.
