The Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) of the Water Development Board has issued a warning for low-lying areas in nine districts, predicting possible flooding due to an active monsoon and a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal.

The districts at risk of temporary inundation are Rangpur, Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari, Kurigram, Sylhet, Sunamganj, Moulvibazar, Chattogram, and Feni.

According to the FFWC’s Sunday bulletin, citing the meteorological department, the low-pressure system that formed over the west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal has moved inland and now lies as a depression over north Telangana and nearby areas of India.
