The Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) and the Bangladesh Air Force Women Welfare Association (BAFWA) have continued humanitarian assistance and relief operations for flood-affected people in different areas of Chattogram, Sylhet and Cox's Bazar districts.

An Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate release issued this evening said BAF rescue teams, helicopters and the Disaster Management Cell remain on round-the-clock standby to respond to any emergency rescue operation.

Under the initiative and guidance of BAFWA President Saleha Khan, BAFWA Regional Branch Chattogram today distributed essential dry food, safe drinking water and emergency medicines among the flood-hit families in several inundated areas of Anwara upazila in Chattogram.

At the same time, BAFWA Sub-Regional Branch Shamshernagar distributed relief materials, including dry food, safe drinking water and emergency medicines, among the flood-hit families in the Rajdighirpar area of Kamalganj upazila in Moulvibazar district, the release mentioned.

Meanwhile, under the overall guidance of Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, BAF Base Cox's Bazar distributed dry food, safe drinking water and emergency medicines among flood victims in the Rajakhali area of Pekua upazila in Cox's Bazar district, the ISPR said.

The Air Chief has already directed all Air Force bases and units to carry out humanitarian assistance activities and ensure overall support for people affected by floods in adjacent areas.

BAF rescue teams, helicopters and the Disaster Management Cell are maintaining round-the-clock readiness to undertake any emergency rescue mission, the ISPR added.
