Miscreants set the July Memorial on fire on Dhaka-Aricha highway at Paschim Seuta near Manra Bridge in Sadar upazila of Manikganj district early Saturday.

Kamal Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said three people riding on a black colored private car appeared there around 3:30 am and set the July Memorial on fire after pouring petrol.

On information, police rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire with the help of local people.

Police are trying to identify the arsonists after checking the CCTV footage of the incident and legal action will be taken after that.

A total of 64 July memorials were built in 64 districts commemorating the martyrs of the July uprising, reports UNB.
