Gold prices revised again

The price of gold in Bangladesh has been increased again. The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has officially announced the new rates, which take effect from today, Thursday, May 22.

On Wednesday, May 21, the price of gold was raised by Tk 2,823 per bhori. With this, the price has risen by a total of Tk 4,187 over the last two revisions. The latest hike sets the price of 22-carat gold at Tk 169,921 per bhori (11.664 grams).

Just a few days earlier on May 17, BAJUS had raised the price by Tk 1,364 per bhori, bringing the rate for 22-carat gold to Tk 167,098 at the time.

Under the new pricing, the current rates are as follows:

22-carat gold: Tk 169,921 per bhori

21-carat gold: Tk 162,200 per bhori

18-carat gold: Tk 139,023 per bhori

Traditional gold (Sanatan method): Tk 114,949 per bhori

So far in 2025, BAJUS has adjusted gold prices 36 times, with 24 increases and 12 decreases.

In comparison, the price was revised 62 times in 2024, with 35 hikes and 27 reductions recorded throughout the year.
