Youths take oath in Kalapara to raise awareness against fossiol fuels on Saturday.



Patuakhali: On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, a youth oath was taken in Kalapara to raise awareness against fossil fuels that are harmful to the environment and climate and to demand the expansion of renewable energy.

On Saturday at 11 am, the youth took oath at the Kalapara Upazila Administration playground under the initiative of Kalapara Environment and Public Safety Forum, Amara Kalaparabasi, Just Energy Transition Network, Prantajon and ActionAid Bangladesh.

The oath-taking ceremony was recited by Nesser Uddin Ahmed Tipu, a member of Kalapara Environment and Public Safety Forum and President of Kalapara Press Club.

The youth participating in the ceremony took an oath to work for the expansion of renewable and clean energy instead of fossil fuel-based development that is harmful to the environment and climate.

After taking the oath, the young people wrote their thoughts against fossil fuels on a banner and signed in support. - Gofran Palash
