CEC to address nation on election, referendum at 7pm

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin will address the nation at 7pm today ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election and referendum scheduled to be held tomorrow.


The address will be broadcast simultaneously on Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Bangladesh Betar. Private television channels and radio stations will relay the speech using BTV's feed, Director (Public Relations) and Chief Information Officer of the Election Commission (EC) Secretariat Md. Ruhul Amin Mallick confirmed to BSS.

In his speech, the CEC is expected to give important directives regarding overall preparations for the polls, the law and order situation, and voting procedures.

He will also outline the final measures taken by the Election Commission to ensure a free, fair, impartial and credible election, and seek full cooperation from political parties, candidates, voters and officials involved in election duties.

The 13th national parliamentary election and the referendum will be held simultaneously across the country tomorrow. Voting will begin at 7:30am and continue uninterrupted until 4:30pm, reports BSS.
