
Invited by WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, Siddiqi took part in key discussions on global challenges and opportunities, highlighting Bangladesh’s recent experiences and perspectives, according to a press release issued by the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing on Sunday.
Siddiqi spoke at several public panels on economic development, finance and investment, social movements and reforms. He also contributed to high-level roundtables on geopolitics, job creation, gender-inclusive policy and Myanmar. These sessions were chaired by prominent global leaders, including Finnish President Alexander Stubb, World Bank President Ajay Banga, Honduran President Daniel Noboa and East Timorese President José Ramos-Horta.
In addition, Siddiqi joined a workshop with trade ministers from ASEAN and East Asia, chaired by Professor Ricardo Hausmann.
On the sidelines of the forum, he held a series of formal and informal bilateral meetings with senior policymakers, including US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, EU Commissioners Roxana Mînzatu and Jozef Síkela, ministers from Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Canada, Egypt and the UAE, as well as leaders of major international organisations.
He met heads of key multilateral bodies such as the WTO, WHO, IOM and UNCTAD, along with the UN special envoy on Myanmar and other global figures. Siddiqi also called on Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dr Harini Amarasuriya.
During the forum, he exchanged greetings and brief updates on Bangladesh with several world leaders, including the prime ministers of Canada and Pakistan, the IMF managing director and former and current political leaders from Europe, Australia and the United States.
Siddiqi also held meetings with representatives of major global companies, including Meta, PayPal, DP World and Louis Dreyfus. He was accompanied throughout the visit by Abdullah Mahabub, first secretary at the Bangladesh mission in Geneva.
