Bangladesh's gross foreign exchange reserves have risen to $36.21 billion as of October 11, according to the latest data from the central bank.

Arif Hossain Khan, executive director and spokesperson of Bangladesh Bank, disclosed the latest figures on Sunday.

The country's gross foreign exchange reserves stood at $36,213.24 million, or $36.21 billion, as of October 11. Under the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) Balance of Payments and International Investment Position Manual, Sixth Edition (BPM6), the reserves amounted to $31,403.60 million, or $31.40 billion.

On October 8, gross reserves stood at $36,158.56 million, while reserves calculated under the BPM6 method amounted to $31,349.44 million.

Net foreign exchange reserves are calculated using the IMF's BPM6 methodology. The figure is derived by deducting short-term liabilities from gross reserves to determine the country's net or usable reserves.
