
Bangladesh’s overall inflation rose to 8.34% in September, up from 8.26% in August, according to the latest data released by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) on Tuesday.
The inflation rate increased by 0.08 percentage point month-on-month.
Food inflation rose to 7.22% in September from 7.02% in August, marking an increase of 0.20 percentage point.
However, food inflation was lower than the 7.64% recorded in September last year.
Non-food inflation edged down to 9.30% in September from 9.32% in August, a decline of 0.02 percentage point.
Despite the monthly decline, non-food inflation remained higher than the 8.98% recorded in September last year, according to BBS data.
