Mild earthquake jolts parts of Bangladesh

A mild earthquake jolted parts of Bangladesh early Monday, causing brief tremors in several areas.

The earthquake, measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale, struck at 5:32am, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD). 

The epicentre was in Shibpur upazila of Narsingdi, about 47 kilometres northeast of Dhaka, the BMD said.

No casualties or damage were reported immediately. -UNB
