A joint team of Special Response Battalion (SRB-6) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB-21) seized 6.60 kg of crystal meth from a bus at Zero Point Bus Stand in the Harintana Police Station area of Khulna on Tuesday evening, worth around Tk 33 crore.

SRB-6 Commander Nistar Ahmed said, acting on a tip-off, a joint team comprising members of the Special Company of SRB-6 and BGB-21 Battalion searched a bus travelling from Satkhira to Khulna and recovered the drugs locally known as 'ice', which had been left abandoned inside the vehicle.

The seized drugs were confiscated in accordance with legal procedures in the presence of witnesses, he said.

The recovered crystal meth will be handed over to Harintana Police Station under a general diary (GD) entry for further legal action, the commander added.

He said SRB forces had been conducting regular anti-narcotics drives as part of their zero-tolerance policy against drugs, reports BSS.
