Hanging bodies of husband and wife recovered in Kalapara

Patuakhali: Police recovered the hanging bodies of Arif Hossain (25) and Riya Moni (22) couple from the same house in Kalapara of Patuakhali. The bodies were recovered from West Asalat Kha Para village of Latachapli Union of Mahipur police station at around 1 p.m. on Tuesday (February 19). The name of deceased Arif Hossain's father is Ali Hossain.

Locals said, Arif is a photographer by profession. He used to earn money by photographing tourists in Kuakata. Both his parents live in Dhaka. Arif bought land and built a house here a few days ago. Both husband and wife came from Mistripara relative's house in the afternoon. But the neighbors heard that there was a quarrel between the husband and wife.

At around 12 o'clock in the night, the relatives went to that house after hearing the crying of the only baby daughter of the couple. Later they found Riya and Arif hanging. Meanwhile, the child Sumaiya was crying looking at the hanging body of his father.

Arif's nephew Khairul said that he went and found his uncle in the house and his mother hanging from the balcony.

Mohipur police station OC Anwar Talukder said, after receiving the information, police have been sent to the spot and are bringing the body to Mohipur police station. The bodies have been sent to Patuakhali morgue for post-mortem. A UD case has been filed in the Mohipur police station in this incident. - Gofran Biswas Palash
