Dengue: One dies, 249 hospitalised in last 24hrs

One dengue patient died and 249 patients have been hospitalised in the country during the last 24 hours till this morning. 


"During the period, 134 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 39 in Chattogram, nine in Dhaka division, eight in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 35 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), eight in Mymensingh division, one in Sylhet, five in Rajshahi and three were admitted to different hospitals in Rangpur division," said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of cases rose to 5,988, while 30 deaths from dengue, the mosquito-borne disease, were reported this year.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 222 dengue patients have been released, reports BSS. 

Last year, the total number of cases rose to 1,01,214, while 575 deaths from dengue disease were reported, the statement added.
