Dengue death toll rises to 170 in Bangladesh

At least three more patients died of dengue in the past 24 hours till Sunday.



At least three more patients died of dengue in the past 24 hours till Sunday morning, taking the official death toll to 170 across the country since January.

A total of 908 dengue patients were admitted to health facilities in the past 24 hours, of which 476 were reported in Dhaka city and 432 in other places outside the capital.

A press release of the Directorate General of Health Services confirmed the data on Sunday (November 6).

The DGHS has recorded 43,107 dengue cases and 39, 569 recoveries so far this year.

During the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, there was not much dengue infection. But, in 2021, a total of 28, 429 people were affected across the country. 105 people died of dengue nationwide in that year.
