Two more children die with measles symptoms

Two more children died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths from confirmed measles and measles-like symptoms to 1,110 since March 15.


The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the information in a press release sent from its control room today.

According to the release, 1,132 suspected measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, while the total number of suspected cases reached 192,863 from March 15 to October 1.

The number of confirmed measles cases in the past 24 hours stood at 82.

Since March 15, the total number of confirmed measles cases has reached 21,602.

From March 15 to October 1, a total of 170,877 patients with suspected measles were admitted to hospitals, while 163,973 recovered and were discharged during the same period.

Two children died of suspected measles in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths among children from suspected measles to 1,009 since March 15.

No deaths from confirmed measles were reported in the past 24 hours. Since March 15, a total of 101 people have died of confirmed measles, reports BSS.
