Dengue death toll rises to 149 as six die in 24 hours

Six people died of dengue and 1,561 new patients were hospitalised across the country in the 24 hours until 8:00am on Sunday.


With the latest fatalities, the dengue death toll has risen to 149 in the country this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The new deaths were reported in Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna and Mymensingh divisions, it said.

Since January 1 this year, a total of 51,837 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country, reports UNB.

Of them, 48,093 have been discharged after recovery, according to the DGHS.
