1,314 new dengue cases, 4 deaths reported

Health officials today said they recorded 1,314 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least four persons in the past 24 hours.


“During the period, (of the 1,314) 153 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 198 in Chattogram division, 225 in Dhaka division, 143 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 139 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 235 in Khulna division, 81 in Mymensingh division, 99 in Rajshahi division, 36 in Rangpur division and five in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts, Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 121 deaths while the disease inflicted 43,904.

The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country, reports UNB.

Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
