3 more children die with measles-like symptoms

Three more children have died with measles-related symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths from measles-related illness to 925, according to a press release of Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

According to the release, no one died of confirmed measles during the past 24 hours, but three children died of suspected measles. Since March 15, a total of 99 children have died of confirmed measles and 826 of suspected measles, bringing the total to 925.

In the past 24 hours, 68 new confirmed measles cases were detected. At the same time, 1,004 new suspected measles cases were identified.

According to the DGHS, a total of 146,715 suspected measles cases have been reported since March 15. During the same period, 18,144 confirmed measles cases were detected, reports BSS.
