Measles Cases Rise, Two More Deaths Reported in 24hrs

Bangladesh has reported 961 new suspected measles cases and two additional deaths in the past 24 hours, according to health authorities on Saturday.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS Bangladesh) said in its latest bulletin that 108 cases were confirmed as measles between 8am Friday and 8am Saturday, while no new confirmed deaths were recorded during the same period.

Since 15 March, the total number of confirmed measles cases has reached 7,524, while suspected cases have climbed to 56,572.

During the same period, 74 deaths have been confirmed due to measles, while 379 additional deaths have been reported among suspected cases.

The health authorities also said that 36,645 patients have recovered so far from the disease.
