The government of Bangladesh has temporarily suspended the “Visa on Arrival” facility for all eligible countries, including Bhutan, from 15 January to 15 February 2026.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade informed the public that the Embassy of Bangladesh in Thimphu officially communicated the change to the Bhutanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As a result, all Bhutanese nationals planning to travel to Bangladesh during this period are advised to apply for a visa in advance through the Embassy of Bangladesh in Thimphu.

The Bhutanese Ministry urged travellers to take note of the suspension and make necessary arrangements ahead of time to avoid inconvenience.
