Shipping and Labour and Employment Adviser Brigadier General (Retd) Dr M Shakhawat Hossain today reaffirmed Bangladesh's strong commitment to further strengthening its friendly relations with Denmark, particularly in sectors such as the shipbuilding industry.

He made the remarks during a meeting with Danish Ambassador to Bangladesh, Christian Brix Moller, who paid a courtesy call at the Adviser's office in Dhaka.

During the meeting, the Danish envoy expressed Denmark's keen interest in investing in Bangladesh's shipbuilding sector and in the development of port infrastructure. In particular, discussions focused on the progress of the container terminal construction project at Laldiar Char in Patenga, Chattogram, which is being implemented with Danish assistance.

Addressing foreign investment, the Adviser said the government is actively working to attract increased foreign direct investment. He noted that a favorable investment climate currently prevails in Bangladesh, which offers promising opportunities for international partners like Denmark, reports BSS.
