IMO chief urges renewed diplomacy as shipping faces growing threats

Arsenio Dominguez, secretary-general of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), has told Al Jazeera that conversations related to shipping are taking place at the UN General Assembly and that these talks are “the beginning of diplomacy once again”.
“We are ready to put into practice any necessary action – operational action – in order to resume transit through the Strait of Hormuz. But for that we need the strait to be safe,” Dominguez said.
The more that shipping is targeted across the globe, the more there will be more hardship for everyone around the world, reports AL Jazeera.
