Shama off to US to attend UN humanitarian meeting

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam today left Dhaka to attend the Humanitarian Affairs Segment of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in New York.


The three-day event will be held from June 17 to 19 and is expected to bring together policymakers, diplomats, humanitarian actors and development partners to discuss global humanitarian challenges and response strategies.

During her visit, the state minister is expected to participate in discussions and engagements on issues related to humanitarian affairs and international cooperation. She is scheduled to return on June 20, reports BSS.
