Uncle, nephew die from excessive drug intake in Sylhet

Sylhet, Apr 28 -A maternal uncle and his nephew reportedly died after consuming excessive drugs in Golapganj upazila of Sylhet on Sunday night.

The deceased were identified as Farid Ahmed, 45, son of Tamjid Ali from Uttar Goaspur Ruihgar village of the upazila, and his nephew Rubel Ahmed, 36, son of Syedur Rahman from Sorkar Bazar village in Kanaighat upazila of the same district.

The duo took the excessive drug at the house of one Selim Uddin in Uttar Goaspur Ruihgar village on Sunday night.

As they were found unconscious, they were rushed to Golapganj Upazila Health Complex where physicians declared them dead upon arrival.

Md. Moniruzzaman Molla, officer-in-charge of Golapganj model police station said that they were aware of the deaths and legal action was taken in this regard. - UNB
