Former University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Profesor Dr Kazi Shahidullah
Former University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Professor Dr. Kazi Shahidullah passed away today in Canberra, the capital of Australia. He was 1:15 pm (BST) when he died at his daughter's residence.
Professor Shahidullah had been battling cancer for an extended period and had been receiving treatment in Australia until his passing.
A former professor in the History Department at Dhaka University (DU), Professor Shahidullah leaves behind his wife, two sons, a daughter, and numerous relatives and admirers.
In a condolence message, UGC Chairman Professor Dr. SMA Faiz, along with all members and officials of the commission, expressed deep sorrow and shock at his passing. They offered prayers for the eternal peace of his soul and extended heartfelt sympathy to his grieving family.
