A suspected mugger was killed in a lynch-mob attack at Jalkuri Koroitala in Siddhirganj of Narayanganj district on Sunday.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Abdul Barik, officer-in-charge of Siddhirganj Police Station, said three people riding a motorcycle intercepted a man and tried to snatch his belongings around 6am.

At one stage, locals chased them and managed to catch one of them while the others fled the scene, leaving behind the motorcycle, reports UNB.

Later, local people beat him up mercilessly, leaving him dead on the spot.

The agitated locals also set the motorcycle on fire.
