Father kills son during quarrel over his 2nd marriage

A student was killed allegedly  by his father in Mirsharai upazila of Chattogram on Wednesday.


The incident occurred around 7:00 pm at the house of Sheikh Azam in West Mayani Ghari Market area.

The victim, Md. Shahed, 26, was a computer science student at Chattogram Islamic University from Sitakunda’s Kumira area.

Shahed’s mother, Kamrujahaan, said that her husband, Nur Jamman, remarried without informing the family after returning from abroad.

On Wednesday evening, an argument started when he brought his second wife to the house.

At one point, Nur stabbed his son.

Shahed’s mother demanded the death penalty for her husband and justice for her son, reports UNB. 

Mirsharai police confirmed the incident and said that the suspect managed to flee away, but efforts were underway to arrest him.
