An 18-year-old boy was stabbed to death and another injured in an attack allegedly by a teen gang in Akmal Ali Pocket Gate area under Patenga police station in the port city of Chattogram on Thursday night.

Deceased Md Mehedi Hasan hailed from Gorinda Bazar in Bhola’s Lalmohan upazila but he used to live in Chattogram.
The injured Md Rifat, 19, is son of Md Mintoo of Side Para under Patenga police station and undergoing treatment at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
Police and locals said some teens obstructed Mehedi and Rifat while heading towards a main road from the Akmal Ali Pocket Gate area by a rickshaw around 8:45pm, reports UNB.
Suddenly the boys stabbed the two with sharp weapons and left the scene sensing the arrival of residents after hearing screams from the victims, they said.
Later, the injured were rushed to CMCH where physicians declared Mehedi dead upon arrival, said the hospital’s police outpost In-Charge Nurul Alam Asheq.
He said Rifat, whose condition was stated to be critical, was undergoing treatment.
