Man arrested for killing brother in Chapainawabganj
A man was arrested for allegedly killing his younger brother in a dispute over money owed on Thursday.
The arrestee is Shafiqul Islam of Shrirampur village in Baliadanga union of Sadar upazila.
The deceased was identified as Sadikul Islam (32) of the same area, reports UNB.
Quoting family members, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chapainawabganj Sadar Police Station Sajjad Hossain said Shafiqul's wife took the money from Sadikul's wife.
An argument broke out between them on Thursday evening over the money. At one point, Shafiqul hit Sadikul Islam with a sharp weapon and fled, said the OC.
Later, Sadikul was taken to Chapainawabganj District Hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment around 8:00 pm on Thursday.
Legal action will be taken in this regard, the OC added.
