4 held with hemp, Tapentadol tablet in Savar

RAB in separate drives arrested four alleged drug peddlers along with 76 kilograms of hemp and 8,820 pieces of Tapentadol tablets from Ashulia under Savar upazila Sunday.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in separate drives arrested four alleged drug peddlers along with 76 kilograms of hemp and 8,820 pieces of Tapentadol tablets from Ashulia under Savar upazila of the capital city on early Sunday (March 19).
The arrestees are Juwel Miah, 35, and Md Awlad Miah, 27, hailed from Brahmanbaria district and Md Arif Hasan, 33, and Md Sharif Mia alias Sharif Fakir, hailed from Cumilla.
RAB-4, CPC-2 Company Commander Lt Commander Rakib Mahmud Khan said acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted separate raids in Jamgara and Baipail areas under Ashulia Police Station and arrested the four people along with the drugs.
RAB also seized the drugs carrying pick up van from the scene.
During primary interrogation, the arrestees confessed that they used to collect the drugs from different districts and supply it to many areas of the city.
Legal procedures are under process against the arrestees in this regard, the RAB official added.
