Man hacked dead in Chattogram’s Satkania

A 35-year-old man was hacked to death by unidentified assailants on a road in the southern part of Purangarh union of Satkania upazila of Chattogram early Monday.


The deceased was identified as Jahedul Islam, also known as ‘Picchi Jahed’.

Locals said a group of assailants intercepted Jahedul while he crossing the road riding his motorbike at night.

They then attacked him with sharp weapons, leaving him seriously injured.

Local people and family members rescued him but he died on the way to a hospital.

On information, police visited the scene and collected evidence.

Satkania Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Ariful Islam Siddiqui also visited the spot, reports UNB.

He said police are working to identify those involved in the killing and bring them to justice as soon as possible.
