Father stabbed to death by son in Sitakunda

A man was allegedly stabbed to death by his son following a family dispute in the Jangal Salimpur area under Salimpur union of Sitakunda upazila in Chattogram on Saturday afternoon.


The deceased was identified as Nuru Ullah, 65, originally from Maheshkhali in Cox’s Bazar. He had long been living with his family in the Jangal Salimpur area.

The incident took place around 4:45pm in Jangal Salimpur under Salimpur union.

According to locals, a longstanding family conflict had been ongoing between Nuru Ullah and his son Mohammad Abdullah.

During an altercation on Saturday, Abdullah allegedly stabbed his father, leaving him critically injured.

Nurullah was rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where he died in the evening while undergoing treatment.

Confirming the matter, Faujdarhat Police Outpost In-Charge Md Sohel Rana said police received information that a father had died after being stabbed by his son in Jangal Salimpur, reports UNB.

On information, Locals caught Abdullah, and handed him over to the police.
