Dhaka, 23 Dec - Bangladesh fast bowler Taskin Ahmed continued his good form in the International League T20 (IL T20), playing a key role in his side Sharjah Warriors' four-wicket victory against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders at Abu Dhabi on Monday.
Taskin ended with 2-41 in four overs, a performance that saw Sharjah restrict
Abu Dhabi to 134-9 before they clinched the victory by reaching 135-6 in 20
overs. He also took two wickets in the previous match against Desert Vipers.
Adil Rashid was adjudged man of the match for his 3-18 for Sharjah but Taskin
gave two timely breakthroughs despite being expensive.
Taskin stifled Abu Dhabi at the outset of the innings, dismissing Phil Salt
(4), who is known for his flying start. Later, he got the better of another
dangerous batter Alex Hales (5) in his second over to ruin Abu Dhabi's any
prospect of putting up a healthy total.
Losing two key batters in the first three overs, Abu Dhabi could never claw
back into the contest. However, Sherfane Rutherford's 36 ball-44 helped them
manage 134-9.
James Rew then hammered 29 ball-42 not out to guide Sharjah to the victory.BSS
