Bangladesh Women's Team finished seventh in the ICC Women's World Cup after their final match against host India was abandoned due to persistent rain at Dr DY Patil Cricket Academy in Navi Mumbai today.

The rain halted the game twice forcing it to be a 27-over match.

Bangladesh which were sent to bat first managed to put up 119-9 and India were 57 without loss in 8.4 overs in pursuit of an adjusted target of 126 before rain arrived for the third time to finally call off the game.

After the outcome of the match, Bangladesh moved to three, seeing them leapfrog Pakistan into seventh in the final standings on net run rate.

Bangladesh won the opening game against Pakistan before losing five matches on the trot. The rain however saved them from sixth straight defeats.

India, who were assured of fourth whatever the outcome, will now prepare for their semi-final against Australia on Thursday, which will take place at the same venue in Navi Mumbai, reports BSS.
